About this Talk
Any student of history can scarcely imagine the Spanish Inquisition, when
many people (heretics) were burned at the stake for daring to question orthodox religion.
Orthodoxy has many ways to cow questioners into either agreement or silent
submission. In this hard hitting presentation, Joel embraces modern heresy
as the antidote to orthodox dysfunction and incorrect ideology. We moderns don’t
generally burn people at the stake, but we censor, marginalize, and criminalize
opposing views and practice. Understanding the philosophical underpinnings
in these tensions helps us all see the better path more clearly.
